Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which will commence in 2021

APPRENTICE - Administrative / Customer Service Level 2

Full Time – 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK

Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00

SALARY Hourly rate - £6.45 - £8.21 dependent on age

There is currently an opportunity for a well-organised and motivated individual, with good communication skills to work within the Chemotherapy Department. The post holder will be required to undertake a wide and varied range of administrative and secretarial tasks in a busy, but interesting environment, including filing, telephone consults, making appointments.

The successful candidate should possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work efficiently whilst under pressure to meet strict deadlines. A degree of flexibility will be required to facilitate this. The candidate will also communicate with the Multi Disciplinary Team, patients and relatives.

The post holder should possess:

  • GCSE ‘O’ level Grade D or Above - English and Maths - Or equivalent (i.e. Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy)
  • Intermediate IT Skills
  • Awareness of stores, stock control, distribution, transportation and storage
