Band 7 £38.890 to £44,503 pro rata, per annum

Band 8A £45,753 to £51,668 pro rata, per annum

North Gosforth Primary Care Network and Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals are delighted to offer this part time position for a Clinical Pharmacist in a patient facing role to support delivery of the Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service (DES). Key parts of the role are clinical audit, education and training, clinical supervision and structured medication review to reduce medicines risk, support patients to achieve their health goals and improve patient wellbeing. The successful candidate will register on the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway.

The successful candidate will be appointed either to the Band 7 or Band 8a, dependent on demonstration of the essential criteria detailed in the job descriptions. If appointed at Band 7, progression to Band 8a will happen upon successful achievement of all of the competencies required of Advanced Stage 1 of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Advanced Pharmacy Framework (APF); you will progress to Band 8a from the date of the assessment and your job title will be, Lead Clinical Pharmacist (Integrated Care). The expectation is that you will achieve these competencies within a maximum of 24 months from commencement in post however, in exceptional circumstances (e.g. training delayed by provider/extended periods of absence/pandemic situations), this period may be extended for a specified period of time – this is at the discretion of the Manager.

For employees who fail to meet the criteria for Advanced Stage 1 within 24 months of commencement in post (or within the revised timescale if an extension is granted by the Line Manager), the Trust will endeavour to source redeployment for you in a suitable alternative role however there will be no guarantee at what Band. There is no expectation that you will submit your portfolio for RPS Faculty accreditation unless you wish to do so. The cost of RPS Faculty accreditation will be your responsibility and not that of the Trust.
