The UHL Cardiac Surgery Department is an emergency-led service, based at Glenfield Hospital. The unit is a centre of excellence within the UK and also enjoys international recognition. You will work as part of a team comprising of a wide range of healthcare professionals - doctors, nurses, and administrators.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Pathway Coordinator to work within the Cardiac Service at the Glenfield hospital. This will be based on a fixed term contract (37.5Hours) for at least 6 months or potential secondment.

The work includes the processing of clinic and admin letters using the latest digital downloading methods, communicating with and scheduling patients for outpatient clinic appointments, whilst ensuring full Utilisation of clinic slots available. Also to ensure all Local and National Standards are applied to referrals, RTT & National Cancer Wait times Targets, date stamping, data quality checks, partial booking in accordance with UHL Patient Access and Data management Policy. This will be achieved by working alongside the Cardiac Surgery medical staff and other administrative teams to deliver excellent patient care. If you work well under your own initiative, prioritising your workload and understand the importance of good communication, whilst working within a team then we would like to hear from you. It would be an advantage if you already have experience in the various hospital systems and have at least one year’s administrative experience in dealing with customers or patients.
