We have long term placement opportunities available for Phlebotomists available at East & North Hertfordshire specifically providing the following:

  • Phlebotomist supported by chemotherapy manger in setting and maintaining high standards and promoting the best practice in patient care and blood sample collection. 
  • Supporting unit Manager in organising and planning of staff recruitment and selection. 
  • Supporting the manager in planning and development of the service in accordance with quality standards, national guidelines and the need of the local health economy. 
  • To act as a source of highly specialised, skilled knowledge within the field of phlebotomy
  • To perform Venepuncture and Veneole (capillary sampling) blood collection procedures (the piercing/puncturing of veins or the slicing of veneoles, which are both invasive, clinical procedures). To extract blood samples from patients/donors in a manner that makes the blood sample suitable/fit for analytical, therapeutic or diagnostic testing and purpose. Working on hospital wards, clinics, community based clinics within other organisations & NHS Trusts and also in the patients domicile. 
  • To be competent in drawing blood from central lines i.e. PICC/ports etc.
