Band 8b Genomics Transformation Manager

Following the successful completion of NHS England’s 100,000 Genomes project in January 2019 genomic medicine became a newly commissioned service in April 2019. This new service has the scope to revolutionise treatment and prevention by developing and improving existing genetic and genomic diagnostic services, meaning that the NHS can offer more targeted tests, tailored drugs and enhanced care plans for our patients, moving towards a comprehensive personalised medicine model.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is now recruiting for a senior manager to lead on the transition from project to business as usual for this new service. The successful post holder will engage with internal and external stakeholders across the North Thames geography and manage the genomics and personalised medicine team in an effort to integrate all aspects of genomic and personalised medicine into clinical services across our five sites, whist encouraging joint working across the wider North Thames geography.

We are looking for an experienced senior manager who has demonstrable experience with clinical transformation management within the NHS and understands the complexities of setting up a new service. Applicants should possess excellent communication and leadership skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines, resilience, the ability to work independently and flexibly across sites as required and to support, grow, nurture and coach a small team. Previous experience with genomic and genetic medicine, population health, clinical services, and commissioning is also required and therefore candidates with experience within the 100,000 Genomes Project would be suitable for this level of appointment and are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applications from job seekers who require current Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. UK Visas and Immigration requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
