Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

We are looking for a dynamic, versatile and self-motivated experienced nurse, midwife or AHP to become a senior member of the internal audit and independent assurance team, in the role of Clinical Quality Manager (Specialist Assurance). We would particularly welcome applications from mental health or learning disability nurses who have held a management position (either as a ward/team manager or a lead nurse for a particularly topic).

The role will see you using your extensive clinical knowledge and experience in a different way to influence patient care – primarily by providing independent assurance and advice to clients about their clinical systems and processes, leading to quality improvement. As part of the role you will regularly liaise with Executives and senior managers from NHS organisations as part of your role, as well as present information and reports to groups and senior committees so excellent communication skills and confidence presenting are essential.

You will have already worked in a leadership and managerial role and therefore been involved in governance structures and risk management but this role will see you develop an advanced understanding and set of skills in relation to governance, risk management and control, which will be invaluable in your future career progression.

You will be required to undertake complex analysis and produce high quality output in the form of reports and visual presentation of information, so experience in these areas is essential.

You will be able to demonstrate your innovative and creative abilities through the development of new services to support clients, based on your particular background, expertise and skills. This post therefore has the flexibility to develop and evolve in different directions, making it great for someone who wants to shape their future career.

Experience of systematic quality improvement and/or rigorous audit and assurance processes is required, although further training on the specifics of internal audit will be provided if necessary.

The post holder will be nominally based at our Oak House office (Rotherham) but travel will be expected across the client base to undertake reviews and therefore a driving licence and car availability are essential. This post will require a DBS check.
