JOB TITLE: Trainer Practitioner


The Estates and Facilities Team aim to deliver a high quality learning service to their team; including advising, developing, planning, delivering, evaluating programmes or internal short courses. The new role is based within the Trust’s Estates and Facilities team where the role will develop an internal estates academy with a suite of programmes relevant to the various professions. This will include a specific focus on developing accessible mandatory training programmes to ensure compliance. The team places a high importance on quality and ensuring that the staff member, learner, is at the heart of its work.

The post holder will lead on the research and creation of training programmes/courses, and their associated resources, ensuring that the materials meet internal and external requirements. There is an expectation that the post holder will be a collaborative worker who is able to liaise and work well with other colleagues to ensure the learner has a ‘joined up’ learning experience. The majority of time in the role should be classroom based delivery however 121 learner support sessions, design and development work, additional learning support and academy set up will also be required. The post holder should have excellent record keeping and feedback skills and be knowledgeable in the NHS Core Skills Framework with current experience on delivering at least one of these topics.

The post holder will take an active, and proactive, role in developing and setting up the Estates Academy; often where no precedent exists.

The post holder will support individuals throughout their learning and use their knowledge and experience to implement necessary adjustments to training materials / positioning of content to make it relevant to the learners whilst maintaining the core messages of the business. Clear audit tracks of changes will be maintained.

The post holder is required to support the culture of a learning organisation, proactively look to grow the service through identifying new learners, promoting learning and showcasing good practice. The post holder is required to work with a high degree of autonomy on a regular basis, often managing multiple competing priorities; this will require excellent planning, communication, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise their workload effectively.

The post holder must be able to communicate information to a wide range of staff groups and key stakeholders across the Trust using the appropriate means.

The post holder must be occupationally competent either in at least one mandatory training topic, be enthusiastic in a changing arena, have a track record of delivering training to both small and large audiences, thrive on working in a results-driven environment and be committed to the success of learners.

The post holder will hold a Teaching / Training Qualification at Level 4 or above.
