The LGH is one of 3 hospital sites in Leicester forming the University Hospitals of Leicester. Specialties covered on this site are Orthopaedics, Nephrology & Urology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Pain Management and Hepato-biliary surgery. The Radiology Department provides imaging in plain film (x-rays), scanning – CT/MRI/Ultrasound and screening procedures.

The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of Imaging’s team of non-medical support staff in the provision of diagnostic services to our patients and users. They will work closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues within the Radiology department and liaise with other departments and wards to ensure effective communication and support to the radiographic teams and their patients.

The post holder is required to facilitate the continuous provision of a high quality, efficient support services across the modalities of Radiology to ensure that patients receive a first class service and waiting times are met. The post holder is required to provide leadership, direction and support to non-medical support staff, whilst developing effective working relationships, efficient practices and a motivated workforce.

The post holder will work closely with the radiographic site lead in providing support to the non-medical support staff and implementing any clinical/workload changes due to the reconfiguration of services within UHL.

In addition to the management responsibilities there will also be a requirement to work clinically and to contribute to weekend working on a roster basis.
