An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Recruitment Officer to join the People Services team at gtd healthcare.

The Recruitment Officer is a new role and will be instrumental in shaping the recruitment function within the People Services team. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and enthusiastic about internal recruitment, in order to build a ‘best practice’ recruitment strategy and accompanying processes, with support from the People Business Partners and the Head of People Services.

The Recruitment Officer will have the following key responsibilities (full role & duties can be found in the job description):

• Provide first level advice and guidance for employees & line managers on issues relating to recruitment and onboarding, in line with Company policies and procedures.
• Proactively engage with service managers to determine recruitment needs and ensure vacancies are filled as quickly as possible. Work closely with service managers throughout the recruiting process to ensure end to end support is provided.
• Work with the Head of People Services & service managers to put in place and work to a recruitment strategy and accompanying KPI’s to drive recruiting standards.
• Manage the end to end recruitment process, from writing adverts/job descriptions and posting vacancies, to completing shortlisting and arranging interviews, to compiling offers of employment and conducting corporate inductions for new starters.
• Identify new and different methods of attracting candidates and maintain a ‘talent pool’ which can be drawn upon for vacancies.
• Manage relationships with recruitment agencies, ensuring we consistently have competitive rates via use of a preferred supplier list and regular review.
• Support internal succession planning processes, and work with the People Business Partners to understand where internal employees may be suitable for vacancies as a result of these processes being undertaken. This may include opportunities for development of internal staff.

To be successful in this role, it is essential that the individual has experience of working in a recruitment environment, preferably internal recruitment, and has the ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of employment law and how this applies to recruitment processes.

The ideal candidate will be able to organise and prioritise a demanding workload and conflicting deadlines, remaining calm, efficient and confident even when under pressure. This role will be required to liaise with people, both internally and externally, at all levels, and therefore it’s imperative that the individual will be professional in their approach and have great people and communication skills.

It is also advantageous for the candidate to have worked in a healthcare industry previously, and used ‘People’ KPI’s/data to inform recruitment and retention strategies.
