Advert for Clinical Teaching Fellow- 12 month post to commence in February 2021.

This Fellowship post will provide an opportunity for a Specialty Registrar or Core level doctor to develop teaching skills. A main focus of the role will be to support the bedside teaching element of the Leicester Medical School undergraduate curriculum, as a tutor.

The post holder will work alongside the undergraduate block leads, the undergraduate management team and members of the Department of Clinical Education.

In addition, there are a range of opportunities available for the Fellow to become involved in medical education project work with the UHL Department of Clinical Education. The nature of this work will be determined following discussion with the Fellow and depend on the specific interests of the Fellow appointed.

The areas available within the UHL department of education include:

  • Working with the Medical School to enhance the quality of block feedback
  • Participating in the development of education quality improvement processes and tools
  • Opportunity to become involved in faculty development programmes.
  • Participating in educational research and audit projects carried out by block leads. Such opportunities can be linked to the career pathway of the successful candidate

There will be the opportunity to study for a Postgraduate certificate in Medical Education as part of the fellowship.
