Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is one of four dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the UK. We provide healthcare for children and young people from the local population in Sheffield and South Yorkshire, as well as specialised services to children and young people nationally.

This small, busy, acute specialist hospital is situated in the heart of Sheffield, a vibrant and exciting city yet only a 15 minute drive from the beautiful Peak District National Park.

We have an excellent opportunity within our friendly department for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacy technician to join our team.


With the imminent opening of a new aseptic unit the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development of processes and safe working practices.

The role will involve being responsible for managing the organisation and co-ordination of the preparation of all products for Aseptic Services including the prioritising, planning and processing requests for urgent work in conjunction with a senior member of the aseptic team.

To be successful in your application you will have NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Service Skills and BTEC level 3 Extended Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.

Previous experience within a pharmacy aseptic environment is essential.

The post holder will be expected to work 5 days out of 7 which will include weekends and participation in the bank holiday rota.

If you have good communication skills, the ability to be accurate and are able to work well independently as well as within a team; then this is the job for you.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
