Neurology Triager

The role can be undertaken flexibly to fit in with your current commitments as access to
the referral management software is either via a secure HSCN connection, i.e. in an NHSfacility (normally available in health service premises) or remotely via a VPN token usingyour own laptop etc which would enable you to work from home.

gtd healthcare is a not for profit provider of primary care services. We provide the clinical triage element for a number of Referral Management Services across the North West, e.g. Manchester, Warrington, St Helens and Knowsley.

The purpose of clinical triage is review and support the appropriate management of GP
referrals, ensuring they are directed to the right place, e.g. providing advice and guidance to the GP for further management in primary care, referral to community services or to secondary care. To identify Non Commissioned Procedures (NCP) and if the patient doesn’t meet the specific criteria contained in the CCG’s commissioning guidance document, referrals should be returned to the patient’s own GP for a discussion on next steps.

To support this work, we are looking implement a Neurology triage team and engage a
number of suitably qualified and experienced staff, e.g. GPwSI's, GP's, Secondary care or Community based doctors, Specialist clinicians such as nurse specialists, optometrist or Allied Health Professionals. We are looking for clinicians who have the appropriate
experience and confidence to review Neurology referrals and determine the correct
pathway of care therefore you need current or previous experience of Neurology services either in primary or secondary care.
