Head of Capital Projects & Property

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Capital Projects & Property to join Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT), reporting to the Associate Director Estates & Facilities.

As an experienced practitioner, preferably in healthcare, you will lead and manage the Trusts Capital Development programme and Property portfolio.

You will contribute to the development of the Estates Strategy, Capital Programme and support the implementation of Facilities Management Transformation strategy and ensure the Trust has an effective development control plan for properties across Leicester City, Leicestershire and Rutland. The Trust has 100 properties including 40 wards, across 61 sites with a total GIA of circa 106,000 m2.

This Estates Strategy and Facilities Management Transformation plan will provide a Trust Wide estates rationalisation and quality improvement programme designed to ensure the Trust can deliver its services from environments that are clean safe and welcoming.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Leading and delivering the Trust wide Capital Development Programme - demonstrating compliance with statutory standards and current guidance.
  • Responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on technical and complex building management issues across the estate.
  • Leading and managing the Capital Planning team and developing Business Cases for Trust, NHSE/I or DHSC approval.
  • Leading key elements of the Property Strategy to ensure we have the most appropriate estate configuration for our service delivery.
  • A detailed knowledge of the current Modern Methods of Construction and Sustainability solutions are required.
  • Ensuring the delivery of sustainable services which minimises the use of resources and energy consumption.
  • Provision of visible leadership for the service and working collaboratively with the Trust teams.

To be successful in this role you will have a proven track record and experience of delivering public or private sector schemes, ideally in healthcare. You will need to demonstrate a broad range of skills and competencies, working flexibly to provide corporate leadership within the organisation during a challenging period of continuing change.
