Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (2 Posts)

If you are a highly skilled and experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with core mental health experience, then we want to hear from you. The Trust has an amazing opening for someone who is seeking the challenge of working within a highly skilled and experienced team which is continually developing its practice.

The Team

The current team comprises 7 well established, highly experienced and innovative members with a reputation for excellence and innovation. The team can offer excellent in house supervision and CPD, providing a good opportunity for skills development and enhancement. As a service we are actively involved in teaching, training and supervision of other health professionals within and external to the Trust.

The Role

Whilst a comprehensive Job Description and Person Specification are attached, summary elements include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Working as a member of the Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy team as a highly skilled autonomous cognitive behavioural psychotherapist.
  • Responsibility for the effective management and treatment of patients with severe, chronic and complex psychiatric disorders. Typically these are patients that have treatment refractory problems who have had a poor response to previous psychological and pharmacological interventions, or who are deemed too complex or risky for other services.
  • Provide evidence-based CBT intervention and develop treatment initiatives by means of expert evaluation, innovation, and research.
  • Develop and undertake research projects within and external to the Trust.
  • Provide expert CBT education, training and supervision to clinical staff working within or external to the Trust.
  • Offer expert clinical advice and consultation to other clinicians and services as required.

The Candidate

To succeed in this role you will have (See attached Person specification for complete experience list):

  • Extensive post-qualification experience delivering highly specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBP) for adults with a range of mental health problems for example, depression, panic disorder, low self-esteem, PTSD and OCD
  • A core profession in mental health, this includes nursing (RMN), Occupational Therapy or Clinical Psychology
  • Master’s Degree in CBT or equivalent
  • BABCP accredited practitioner
  • Experience of delivering highly specialist CBT to a wide range of patients of varying backgrounds, primarily those aged 16 and above.
  • Experience of highly specialist CBT assessment and treatment of patients with a wide range of diagnoses, across a range of care settings such as; outpatient, community, primary care, inpatient and clients’ home.

You will need to have a full driving licence as the role covers the County and Rutland
