The quality and nursing team encompasses a range of specialist areas of expertise for our population across the Vale of York and this role will focus on supporting Children & Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our team is supportive and nurtures professional development to encourage everyone to reach their full potential.

 

This is an exciting time to join our team in this newly developed role as an Associate Designated Clinical Officer. You will work closely with the Senior Quality Lead for Children & Young People, Children’s Commissioning Specialist and our Designated Medical Officer to ensure, NHS Vale of York CCG not only carries out its statutory functions in relation to the Children & Families ACT 2014 but also to improve the quality and experiences of our children, young people an families in relation to SEND processes. We have developed strong positive, productive and meaningful working relationships with our multi /inter agency partners, parents, carers and voluntary groups; recognising and valuing that together we can make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people at the right time and in the right place. Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Develop key and substantive relationships with local authority, health partners and voluntary services across the Vale of York.

  • Manage and coordinate highly complex health, education and social care information in relation to children and young people.

  • Contribute to and support Education, Health and Care plan processes to a consistently high standard

  • Ensuring the voices of children, young people and their families are heard and actioned within EHCP processes

  • Represent the CCG at Education, Health and Care plan Panel processes, complex case and short break panel processes to inform and ensure robust , equitable and fair decision making with local authority partners

  • Ensure that governance and health components of SEND policy and procedures are updated and communicated. This may include identifying gaps and system solutions.

  • Practice to ensure continual quality improvements across the portfolio of SEND

  • Contribute to training programmes for health , education and social care colleagues

  • Embed ‘coproduction’ as an essential standard in all areas of service development and improvement using the local areas joint partnership model

  • Support colleagues in strategic developments related to Children and Young People
