Specialist Paediatric Clinical Pharmacist

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sheffield Children’s (NHS) Foundation Trust for a keen and committed pharmacist with excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills to join the pharmacy team.

If you are looking for a challenging role to build on your foundation skills and develop your knowledge and expertise this post will provide an excellent opportunity providing you with the support, training and encouragement you need.

Joining a team of experienced pharmacists and medicines management technicians you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver a patient focused clinical pharmacy service to the wards. You will have the opportunity to rotate through a variety of specialties including medicine, surgery, critical care and haematology/oncology.

In addition to your clinical pharmacy role, your duties will include undertaking individual patient medication reviews, attending multiprofessional ward rounds, monitoring and developing guidelines, participating in audit and research activities and providing training and support to pharmacy, nursing and medical colleagues.

Your duties will also include participation in the full range of services provided by the pharmacy team including clinical pharmacy, dispensary services, aseptics and to support and act as a role model for junior pharmacists.

You must have either a postgraduate clinical pharmacy diploma or have completed the first year of the postgraduate clinical pharmacy diploma and be working towards completion of the second year.

Participation in weekend, Bank Holiday and emergency duty rota is required.

This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
