The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is currently seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor in the Department of Anaesthesia. The post will be based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital.

The successful candidate must possess full GDC registration.

We are one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England with a workforce of approximately 14,500 employees including clinicians, non-clinical support workers, clinical and non-clinical leaders and staff with research and academic portfolios – all dedicated to ‘Delivering Caring at its best’ for the population of Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland and beyond.

University Hospitals of Leicester is a large tertiary care centre with a number of surgical specialities, which provide many training opportunities in regional anaesthesia.

Leicester General hospital has 7 operating theatres dedicated to elective Orthopaedic surgeries.. Working in Leicester Royal infirmary will offer experience dealing with regional anaesthesia for trauma, plastics, vascular and ophthalmology.

Focus on the perioperative management of patients receiving neuraxial and or peripheral nerve blockade for anaesthesia and or acute analgesia. Setting might include - intra operative .

The post holder will have a service commitment at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital. The timetable will be agreed with the post holder to reflect the demands of the service. The post holder would be expected to work flexibly. Duties of the post may include teaching of junior staff, nurses or students. The post holder will be encouraged to develop a special interest.
