This is an invitation to apply for an office manager role within a large, friendly, hospital-based child psychology team. The post is for 3.5 days per week.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The team currently consists of twenty six people, including four admin staff, a counsellor and clinical psychologists. We provide psychological input to many of the medical teams within paediatrics, offering inpatient and outpatient interventions as well as staff support, teaching and multidisciplinary team involvement. The service is open from Monday to Friday, 9 – 5pm. The admin staff are an integral part of the psychology team and are highly valued. The positive working atmosphere and the opportunities for development mean we have a long track record of retaining staff within the team.

The admin staff provide administrative back-up to the work of the clinical psychologists including dealing with phone calls from our clients and our referrers and meeting and greeting the families who attend our service.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As office manager you will organise and delegate work to three other people in the admin team. You will be responsible for ensuring that the administrative functioning of the team is streamlined and coordinated so that the experience of the families who are referred to us is as positive as possible. In order to do this you will require excellent organisational and time management skills. You will ideally have previous experience in a leadership role and in a client facing or customer service role. You will line manage and help to develop and support your team. It is really important that you enjoy learning new systems and can demonstrate logical thinking and problem solving, sometimes in time pressured situations. The ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues both inside and outside the team is essential.
