An exciting position is available at Lancashire Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialty Dentist in Special Care Dentistry.

This is a full time fixed term post however applicants seeking less than full time employment are encouraged to apply.

The post will be based at Royal Preston Hospital a Level one Major Trauma Centre which provides a comprehensive range of Oral and Maxillofacial services.
The successful applicant should be experienced in all aspects of Special Care Dentistry and will be expected to work in a flexible and motivated fashion responding to the changing needs of the Unit .

The post holder will be required to have suitable experience, have been a Junior Trainee or higher for at least 3 years. The successful applicant will join a busy unit in providing a wide range of specialist treatments for patients requiring emergency and elective surgery. Duties will include outpatient clinics, day case operating lists and assessment of emergencies and ward referrals during working hours. There is also a teaching element of the post.

We are looking for a person who will be able to undertake clinical work in Special Care Dental surgery working with a degree of independence.

If you are successful in obtaining a position with our Trust which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check. As a registered body with the DBS, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will conduct the administration of this application on your behalf and the cost will be recovered from your salary, either as a one-off payment or over 3 months. Currently the charges made by the Disclosure and Barring Service are - Standard DBS check £30.20 and Enhanced DBS check £48.20. The level of check required depends on the role that you have been offered.
