Neonatal Nursery Nurses Band 4

St Peters Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has a rare and exciting opportunity for a compassionate and caring Nursery Nurse who is keen to learn new skills and work within the hospital setting. We are a friendly, dynamic and supportive unit where you will have the privilege of caring for premature and sick babies who require special care.

You will work in partnership with parents as we adopt a “Family Integrated Care” ethos on our unit. We were awarded the “Bliss accreditation” last year scoring the highest rating in the country. You will guide and advise parents as they learn to look after their babies independently throughout their journey in NICU, TCR (Transitional Care Room) and home, providing expertise in breast feeding, parentcraft and discharge planning.

The unit is fortunate to have a Transitional Care Room where babies can be cared for with their Mothers, after sufficient training you will be able to work here too. Being the only Level 3 NICU in Surrey babies come to us from all over Surrey, Sussex and Kent, alongside our wide range of treatments the unit boasts a research team meaning we are at the forefront of neonatal care.

To apply you will need to have an NNEB diploma or NVQ level 3 in Early Years, care and education, and have experience in caring for babies ideally in a hospital setting. The successful candidate will have continuous training and support to increase their skills and knowledge enabling them to take care of these babies independently. You will be expected to work a variety of shifts including night duty, weekends and bank holidays.

Closing date 4th October 2020. Interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams on 14th October 2020.

We reserve the right to expire vacancies prior to the advertised closing date once a sufficient number of applications have been received.
