It’s an exciting time for patient safety in the NHS. The trust patient safety team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced registered health care professional and patient safety expert to join us in leading the patient safety agenda in our complex organisation. You will be using your existing clinical and specialist expertise to support the next steps in the development of our patient safety incident response framework and in taking patient safety improvement initiatives forward. This post is vital to the continuing development of a fair, supportive, learning and improvement patient safety culture in our Trust.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Incident and serious incident management and investigation
  • Proactive improvement initiatives to keep people safer
  • Education and development to improve the safety of patients
  • Risk management and assurance reporting

The successful candidate will

  • Hold current registration as a healthcare professional
  • Have significant patient safety and management experience
  • Possess sound clinical judgement to advise clinical colleagues
  • Be willing to undertake development in line with the national patient safety curriculum

This role would require some travel between our Bristol and Weston hospital sites. This role is open to all registered healthcare professionals not just nursing and midwifery.
