Hours: 15 Hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed term (for 12 months)

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join the secretarial team at Selby War Memorial Hospital on a fixed term (12 month) contract.

Working in a busy environment the post holder's principle duty will be to type clinic letters, other correspondence and to provide administrative support to the medical secretarial team, within and across the directorate as needed. You will undertake varied clerical duties such as:

  • audio typing of outpatient clinics
  • discharge and general administrative letters
  • general office duties - including filling and photocopying
  • dealing with routine and internal telephone calls

RSA II typing/word processing, and GCSE English language Grade C or above (or equivalents) are essential. Previous clerical/administrative and customer care focused environment experience is required, as is previous audio typist experience and the use of a variety of IT applications.

You will have a flexible approach to work, be well organised, with the ability to prioritise, and be able to work effectively as a team member, having good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

DBS Checks

All new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. The charges are currently £27.20 for a standard check and £44.20 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.
