Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity November 2020 to March 2021 (dates may vary based on needs of patients)

Registered Nurses – Band 6

An opportunity has arisen for experienced nurses who have excellent communication and organisational skills and are able to demonstrate a commitment to caring and showing compassion for patients who are cared for on our Seasonal Ward.

You'll be part of a talented multidisciplinary team providing senior clinical nursing expertise and leadership to ensure patient quality and safety of care is prioritised. You will need to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, sharing expertise and benefiting from excellent professional development opportunities. All focused on being the best you can be, to deliver excellent Nursing care that really stands out.

All applicants must have enhanced clinical experience and decision making skills and be highly motivated and passionate about nursing as well as being a strong Leader.

The Seasonal Wards will be predominantly in UHW as 31 beds on a ward area to be confirmed with a further 19 beds in another ward area, also to be confirmed. The first of the seasonal beds are anticipated to open from November 2020 and will remain until at least March 2021 (dates may vary based on needs of patients and service). The Ward will be caring for patients who will be medically unwell as well as patients who have infections and require isolation.

The position is open to Band 5 and Band 6 Registered Nurses currently working within the UHB, within all Clinical Boards as well as external candidates who want the security of an NHS contract and associated benefits.

  • Salary, Band 6 salary starting at £31,365 increasing to £37,890
  • Unsocial hour payments:
    Saturday (midnight to midnight and any weekday after 8pm and before 6am = Time plus 30%
    Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight = Time plus 60%
  • Annual Leave
    On commencement = 27 days + 8 bank holidays
    After 5 years = 29 days

After 10 years = 33 days
