Sheffield Children’s Hospital is a specialist paediatric centre. The Pharmacy department provides a progressive pharmacy service to a variety of patients throughout the region, making it a highly rewarding working environment.

We have an excellent opportunity within our friendly department for an enthusiastic and highly motivated assistant to join our team.

With a new aseptic unit due to open in the new year the successful candidate will play a part in the validation of the new unit before working in the specialised environment.

The role will involve working in the Aseptics unit and supporting area including the oncology suite. General housekeeping of the aseptic unit and supporting area is a key aspect of the role which includes the cleaning of isolators, floors, work surfaces and furniture in accordance with agreed procedures and frequency. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the restocking and stock control of the aseptic unit as well as labelling and packaging of aseptically prepared products

To be successful in your application you will have NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills and BTEC level 2 Extended Certificate in Pharmacy Services or GPhC approved equivalent and GCSE grade C or above in English or maths (or equivalent).

Previous experience within a Pharmacy Aseptic environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

The post holder will be expected to work 5 days out of 7 which will include weekends and participation in the bank holiday rota.

If you have good communication skills, the ability to be accurate and are able to work well independently as well as within a team; then this is the job for you.

This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
