An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join a small, friendly and dedicated team at Sherrington Park Medical Practice as a part time Receptionist. Sherrington Park Medical Practice is a 2 partner high achieving practice providing excellent patient care.

We are looking for a part-time, flexible employee working on a rota basis, with additional hours for holiday cover or sickness.

Administration/reception experience is preferred but not necessary. You will be offered in-house training for all the areas as required. This demanding role offers the opportunity to develop a range of administrative and communication skills and requires attention to detail and a positive, patient-centered, flexible approach.

The post holder will carry out duties as per the job description.

Job description:

The purpose of the role is to:

Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone

  • Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team
  • Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
