Employer:
Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust
Department:
252 Juniper Ward
Location:

Salary:
£32,933 to £39,681 pa inc. allowances

Do you want to work within an exciting, challenging, and caring environment?

Are you looking for a change, and are you a hard-working, fun-loving, active and enthusiastic individual?

If the answer is yes, then we are looking for you to join our enthusiastic and dedicated nursing teams.

Juniper is a 26 bedded fast flowing, quick turnaround surgical ward, it is made up of 4 side rooms and 4 bays.   The patients are admitted via both elective and emergency pathways for a range of surgical diagnoses and procedures relating to gynecological, urological and colorectal needs. Our patient base tends to be short stay, therefore a proactive attitude towards patient discharge, MDT focus, and an understanding of the operational pressures within the NHS is a must within this role.

Rowan is a 27 bedded, acute surgical ward, made up of 5 side rooms and 4 bays. The patients are admitted also via both elective and emergency pathways for a range of surgical procedures relating to mainly colorectal diagnoses. Our patients tend to have more complex needs due to complications or the nature of their surgery; therefore we deal with complex abdominal wound dressings and total parental nutrition.  The ability to prioritize staffing resources, and recognize surgical complications is key.

Each of our patients has a unique journey involving many other allied health care teams, the careful co-ordination of a multitude of resources is key to ensuring each patient experience is a positive one and that their discharge home is timely and well supported.

We are looking for a proactive and confident practitioner who is able to commit to these dynamic roles and navigate the changing demands of today’s healthcare environment.

This role requires excellent leadership and communication skills.  The right candidate will bring enthusiasm to the team, will lead by example and be a clinical expert within one or all of the above mentioned surgeries. The candidate must have substantial experience at B5 in the acute setting and have proven evidence of self-development and innovation.
