We require an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to come and join our like-minded team. We are a dynamic and friendly organisation providing a unique mix of services to primary care prescribers and stakeholder organisations across the North of England.

An opportunity has arisen within our multidisciplinary Medicines Information (MI) team supporting the Specialist Pharmacy Service medicines information activities of the Regional Drug and Therapeutics Centre (RDTC). The post holder will also support our pharmacovigilance activities and a range of activities within Prescribing Support.

The Centre delivers a range of regional and national information services relating to prescribing and medicines optimisation, pharmacy, therapeutics and adverse drug reaction monitoring. We work closely with the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Authority to act as the Yellow Card Centre, Northern & Yorkshire for adverse drug reaction monitoring.

This post is suitable for someone who has some experience in the delivery of medicines information or hospital clinical pharmacy within either the NHS or private sector. A comprehensive package of training can be provided in the specialist information services provided and as such we also welcome applicants currently working in community pharmacy. A wide range of experience and skills can be gained from working at the RDTC.
The Centre is committed to its staff and provide a comprehensive range of training and development. You will also benefit from flexible working, including the option for a proportion of home working once training is successfully completed and a friendly and supportive environment. The RDTC is happy to support clinical placements to enable use of Independent Prescribing qualifications or simply to help maintain a patient facing element to your role.

The Centre is hosted by the Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust and housed on Newcastle University campus in the centre of the city of Newcastle.
