The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is the independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance and advice on promoting high quality health, public health and social care.

Our role is to improve outcomes for people using the NHS and other public health and social care services. We do this by:

• Producing evidence-based guidance and advice for health, public health and social care practitioners.
• Developing quality standards and performance metrics for those providing and commissioning health, public health and social care services;
• Providing a range of information services for commissioners, practitioners and managers across the spectrum of health and social care.

Are you a proactive and enthusiastic Transformation Programme Administrator with experience in complex minute taking and providing administrative support to transformational projects?

The role:

Reporting to the Project Manager, Transformation, the Transformation Programme Administrator will provide administrative support to the NICE Connect programme to help deliver the NICE Connect vision.

The role includes complex minute taking, developing and administering systems to support the smooth running of governance groups and external meetings, providing administrative and secretarial support to team members, including organising and servicing meetings, and the collation and distribution of associated papers. You’ll also manage diaries and arrange travel and accommodation for staff and external members.

You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including handling day to day enquiries by phone, letter and email. It’s a busy department so you’ll need to be flexible in your approach.


What you will bring to NICE:

    • A level, NVQ level 3 and above or HNC/HND equivalent qualification, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience in transformation programme administration
    • Experience of taking complex minutes at technical meetings and providing administrative support for multiple projects
    • Ability to co-ordinate and prioritise work on different projects to meet deadlines which may be conflicting
    • Ability to work unsupervised and act on own initiative
    • Ability to communicate confidently with individuals at all levels both within and outside NICE
    • Good organisational skills and attention to detail including good standards of numeracy and literacy

The Transformation Unit, within the Finance, Strategy and Transformation Directorate, is a new department established to support the design and delivery of the NICE Connect vision. Our NICE Connect vision for the future builds on NICE’s place as an international leader in evidence synthesis, guideline development and technology evaluation. We will build and enhance this reputation with an improved.
