Job Reference: 833-SS-SP-409-20

(SP) Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust
Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service
£24,907 to £30,615 pa (pro rata)

We are delighted to announce that we have been rated as a “Good” organisation by CQC and our Adults Services were rated ‘Outstanding’ for caring.

If you've been spending the whole day looking for that perfect opportunity, your search is over.

Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS) is an exciting new service which combines the existing Leeds IAPT service with a broader mental well-being support offer based in primary care settings.

The service is delivered as a partnership of NHS and third sector providers which comprises of Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Leeds & York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Community Links, Northpoint Wellbeing, Touchstone, Women's Counselling and Therapy Service and Home-Start Leeds.

The Role
To be eligible for this position, you must have completed the IAPT Low Intensity training course or be nearing the end of your course (within 3 months). Applicants without this qualification will not be considered for the post.

Our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners working within the Improving Access To Psychological Therapies (IAPT) part of the service, assess and treat adults with common mental health disorders. Working in a well-established stepped care system, you will use CBT-based low intensity interventions, including psycho-educational classes, computerised CBT and guided self-help, to help people with depression and anxiety.

We operate a telephone screening hub where clients can access an immediate screening assessment. We also operate an online screening process enabling clients to better access the service. In addition to working partly on the hub, PWP's are expected to facilitate step 2 psycho-educational classes and to see a small caseload of clients for guided self-help in clinics. Currently, due to Covid 19 much of the work is being completed remotely and when safe to do so, we will be resuming some clinics face to face.

You will be well supported in the service through clinical and managerial supervision and will enjoy being part of a committed team of people who have their clients best interests at heart.

LMWS is a great place to work, in which PWP's are encouraged and supported with their on-going development. There are interesting and exciting service projects which we want people to be involved in, plus good career opportunities to progress professionally. We encourage staff members to be at the heart of operational decisions.
Our staff have told us:
"LMWS is an exciting place to work. Staff are involved in trying to improve the service through new ideas"
"We have fantastic duty support and guidance from the senior PWPs with decision making"

"It's really encouraging that there are progression routes for PWPs other than CBT, we have 5 senior PWPS across the consortium and the two Deputy Managers are PWPs"

We exist to provide the best possible care in every community in Leeds. LMWS is committed to ensuring the service reflects the diversity of the population it serves, and we particularly encourage applicants from people with BAME backgrounds.

Some flexibility in working patterns may be available as we strive to provide therapies which fit in with the often busy lives of clients. Come and be part of this dynamic service.
