Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to apply for the post of specialty doctor in Paediatrics for 10 PA’s (Programmed Activities) working a shift system.

This post provides middle grade cover to the general paediatric, neonatal and to the out patient clinics under supervision of the consultants; and complements the existing middle grade training posts in the department. This post offers excellent educational and training opportunities with in house teaching for MRCPCH exams, level 1-4 safeguarding training and Neonatal & Paediatric simulation sessions.

The post is full shift and WTD compliant. There are always two on call middle grade doctors out of hours and on weekends covering neonates and general Paediatric. This arrangement is done in order to improve patients' quality of care and training opportunity for junior doctors during on call time.

The post is based at Darent Valley Hospital and serves the population of Dartford, Gravesend and surrounding areas catering for most specialities. The hospital has excellent road and rail links to the coast, crossings to France and is within 1/2 hour journey by train to London.
