The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is the independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance and advice on promoting high quality health, public health and social care.

Our role is to improve outcomes for people using the NHS and other public health and social care services. We do this by:

• Producing evidence-based guidance and advice for health, public health and social care practitioners.
• Developing quality standards and performance metrics for those providing and commissioning health, public health and social care services;
• Providing a range of information services for commissioners, practitioners and managers across the spectrum of health and social care.

About the role

At NICE, you’ll be working as part of the Engagement and Development team in Human Resources, supporting activities for our staff relating to their learning and development, health and wellbeing and engagement.

You must be organised, have good customer service skills, be pro-active and be able to work to multiple deadlines. We’re also looking for previous experience of working in an administrative role, dealing with various different stakeholders.

Main duties and responsibilities

Within the Engagement and Development team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Organising meetings using room booking system, Zoom or Microsoft Teams
  • Supporting with the preparation of materials and training packs for OD, learning and development, and health and wellbeing sessions
  • Booking staff onto external training courses, ensuring training applications are responded to promptly. Sending booking confirmations and registration details to staff
  • Course administration using the NICE learning management system (ESR OLM). This will include scheduling course dates, providing trainers withattendee registers, updating attendance following courses

Your skills and experience

We’ll be assessing you on your application and through a face-to-face interview over Zoom. The interview process will involve a task to assess your suitability for the role.

To be an administrator at NICE, you’ll need:

  • An administrative qualification or experience to NVQ 3 or equivalent level
  • To be computer literate with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft office packages

Usually our team is based in Manchester city centre offices. Recently, we’ve been working from home with plans to return to the office at reduced capacity and following social distancing guidelines. We can provide the equipment and support you need to facilitate working from home during this time.
