Neonatal Matron

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Women’s and Children’s CBU for a Matron within our Neonatal Unit.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic nurse leader. They must be passionate about delivering high quality compassionate care to neonates and their families, and linking with maternity services to improve care for women, babies and their families within Warrington and Halton Hospitals.

 

The post holder will be accountable for ensuring the highest standard of clinical care is provided within the relevant setting.

 

They will be easily identifiable and accessible to women and families and staff, acting as a professional role model to provide strong, visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to provide support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers. Emphasis on the areas of Safety, Patient Experience, User engagement and Clinical Outcomes for babies and their families will be essential. They will provide advice and support for women and families, carers and relatives as well as the wider multidisciplinary team.

 

The post holder will report jointly to the CBU Manager and Head of Midwifery for Women’s and Children’s and work closely with the Matron for Child Health and maternity Matrons whilst having direct access to the Senior Nursing team for advice, support development and professional guidance. They will play an active part in the professional networks within the organisation and externally link to the North West Neonatal Network and ODN.

 

You will have current and substantial experience of management and leadership within a neonatal unit ideally at band 7. This post requires a positive approach towards change and the ability to engage, support and motivate others.

Depending on the classification of the post, in-line with DBS guidelines, a Standard or Enhanced disclosure will be required which may include a check of the ‘Vulnerable Adults List’, the ‘Children’s List’ and/or the Independent Safeguarding Authorities (ISA’s) barred lists.

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.


Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship
