Clinical Fellow in Endometriosis - CEMIG (Centre for Endometriosis and Minimally Invasive Gynaecology) Fixed Term for 12 months

Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Chertsey, UK

This is an ideal opportunity for an ST5 or above (or equivalent, including CCT holder/equivalent) to work and gain experience in CEMIG, the Centre for Endometriosis and Minimally Invasive Gynaecology at Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey.

St. Peter’s Hospital is a medium sized District General Hospital with some tertiary services, including CEMIG and level 3 neonatal unit. CEMIG was the largest Endometriosis Centre in the UK in 2019, in terms of volume of cases of rectovaginal endometriosis operated.

The successful candidate will be expected to be able to cover labour ward out of hours under the supervision of a Consultant on call who is resident until 9pm weekdays, and non-resident during night hours.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in service improvement projects, audit and, if they wish, research within the department.

The post is initially for 12 months and can be extended for another year, subject to satisfactory fulfilment of the above expectations.

As part of the Service Commitment the successful candidate is expected to participate in the on call rota and running of the Obstetric and general gynaecology Services.
