University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) has an exciting opportunity that has arisen within specialist medicine for an Admin Team Leader within the genetics team based at Princess Anne Hospital Southampton.

We are currently working towards being paper lite so you will be closely working with the operations coordinator, leading and supporting the department with the changes and reviewing processes as well as gaining some operational experience.

ABOUT THE TEAM

We are a large friendly team consisting of Booking clerks, PPC’s, Pre-clinic work up team, Counsellors and Consultants. Our opening hours are Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm. We are based in Southampton but many of our clinics are held in hospitals throughout Hampshire, Dorset, South Wiltshire, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands, and also some GP practices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Your duties will include dealing with telephone queries, typing of patient correspondence, clinic management and liaising with other services within SGH and other hospitals. Attention to detail and outstanding organisational skills are essential.

Experience of working as a medical or patient services secretary linked to a clinical service or customer focused environment is advantageous but not essential,

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for you to have excellent supervisory/management experience, strong communication skills, the ability to work well under pressure and a desire to provide a first class service for patients and clinical teams. This role will involve using the hospital computer systems and training will be given if needed.
