Due to the increased demands on our services an opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Cardiac Physiologist wishing to undertake specialist training in CRM device management. We are looking for individuals that can lead their own development and add to a strong departmental team focused on patient care at the highest standard. The expectation is that you will have a high level of experience within all areas of non-invasive cardiology and within the Cardiac Catheter lab. The post offers dedicated training and support to achieve IBHRE or BHRS accreditation within CRM device management. You should be enthusiastic and engaged with your training and assist with the training of junior staff within all areas of cardiology.

There is an expectation that the successful candidate will take part in the PPCI on-call rota.

This post attracts a Recruitment and Retention Uplift of 12.5% of the basic salary.

THE DEPARTMENT:

The Lister Hospital offers a wide range of services and regional specialities and has just completed an extensive £150 million pound investment programme offer new facilities and wards.

The Cardiology department serves patients across 3 sites with Diagnostic services based across The Lister and New QEII hospitals. The department offers a full range of Non-invasive investigations across both sites with further specialist services based at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage. We perform routine 12 lead, Ambulatory ECG’s and BP’s, Event Recorders and ETT investigations in support of a team of 10 Consultant Cardiologists.

The Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) service currently provides both Loop Recorder and Pacemaker Implants (Dual and Single Chamber), and has a high volume follow-up clinic running all day every day. The CRM service expansion has begun with the department now offering remote device follow-up, paperless clinics and complex (CRT/ICD) device follow-up. With a new Consultant Electrophysiologist joining us in October 2019 the CRM service is primed for further developments in the near future.

The Invasive service based at the Lister Hospital covers 2 Cardiac Catheter Labs, offering a full range of Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiology procedures. This includes Angiography, IVUS and OCT evaluations, FFR measurements, Right and Left Heart Catheterisation, PCI and a 24/7 Primary PCI service (PPCI) service.

The Echocardiography service offers trans-thoracic echocardiography 7 days a week, with a consultant led Stress and TOE service.Recruitment for this post may close sooner than advertised depending on applicant numbers.
