Band: 3

Position: Permanent

Number of hours per week: 37.5

Working days: Monday - Friday

Working hours per day: 7.5

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a member of a professional team within a fast paced department that provides a high quality service for the management of patient’s elective surgery with a high level of job satisfaction when arranging patient care.

The post holder will be responsible for the management of scheduling patients for their elective surgery, involving daily contact with patients via telephone, liaising with other departments and external agencies and supporting the management team and care groups to ensure performance standards are met.

The Waiting List Office provides a pivotal interface between patients, Consultants and Clinical Business Units providing this service. It is essential that the post holder has the ability to work in a demanding environment using empathy and diplomacy when dealing with complex and sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder must have the ability to work co-operatively in a team and adapt to change as required. Patient confidentiality and excellent customer care skills are essential.

The post holder must have excellent communication skills and provide an effective, organised, comprehensive, efficient and high quality patient centered service.

A high level of computer skills are essential and the post holder will be required to work on the Microsoft program Excel daily.

Only candidates who meet the essential criteria will be shortlisted for an interview.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

From April 2017, Tier 2 visa applicants and their adult dependant(s) will be required to provide a criminal record certificate from each country they have lived in consecutively for 12 months or more in the past ten years.
