Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust

Clinical /Counselling Psychologists and Senior Psychological Therapists – Islington/ Camden IAPT

Band 7 Permanent/ fixed term (Full time and part time posts considered)

We are looking for experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologists, eligible for accreditation with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy / experienced accredited CBT therapists who have worked with adults who have common mental health problems in primary care and community settings, to join our iCope (IAPT) services.

Postholders will provide assessment and psychological interventions, often in primary care settings, as part of the range of evidence-based ‘step 3’ (high intensity) interventions we offer in Camden and Islington. In addition postholders will provide supervision to junior staff and will offer advice, consultation and training to other clinical colleagues and be involved in service development. There are opportunities for developing specialist areas of clinical expertise within the service.

You will join a well-established and highly regarded service - one of the first wave IAPT sites in London - and will be based in one of our locality teams with High and Low Intensity Workers. You will be part of a lively and friendly staff team providing a similar service across the Borough. We pride ourselves on offering a high level of in-house training and regular supervision from experienced clinicians.

We are looking for people with excellent clinical, supervision and communication skills and a real interest in and knowledge of working with people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties. Enthusiasm, confidence and the ability to work flexibly and without close direction are essential.

The postholder will be required to work until 8pm one evening per week.

Camden and Islington NHS foundation trust support flexible working and working hours can be negotiated as many of our clinicians prefer to work condensed hours to allow for a better work/life balance.
