Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist inpatient and community mental health, learning disabilities, addiction and acquired brain injury services for the people of Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby, Merseyside. We also provide community physical health services in Liverpool, Sefton, secure mental health services for the North West of England, the West Midlands and Wales and specialist learning disability services across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Estates and Facilitates for an apprentice gardener to join the Horticulture Department at Maghull Health Park

The Horticulture Department is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds and gardens at Maghull Health Park, The staff within the department work together as a team to keep the grounds to high standard at all times, this ensures we have an aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, staff and visitors.

The post is for an apprentice gardener who will be based at Maghull Health Park but will work across all Mersey care sites throughout the North West, The apprentice gardener will be working alongside staff from the Horticulture department carrying out there duties to improve and maintain the grounds and gardens across all Mersey care sites, there duties will include grass cutting, hedge cutting and the maintenance of all the horticultural features in the secure and non secure setting.

The post holder will enrol on a work based Horticulture apprenticeship and will achieve a level 2 diploma in Horticulture, this will give the post holder the skills and experience to become a fully qualified and competent member of the Horticulture team.

The applicant should be well motivated and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and have an interest in Gardening/Horticulture.
