Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Service (IAPT) – Primary Care

Sheffield IAPT works closely with GP Practice teams across Sheffield providing a wide range of psychological interventions to people experiencing Depression and Anxiety - operating within a Stepped Care Model.

Sheffield is at the forefront of transforming access to psychological therapies and providing integrated care for people with long term physical health conditions/symptoms alongside anxiety or depression. Our Primary Care Health and Wellbeing Team brings together experienced IAPT psychological therapists/practitioners and clinical health psychologists – to work closely with health; social care; and third sector colleagues across primary and secondary care in a range of physical health condition pathways (e.g. diabetes, COPD, CHD, CFS/ME, IBS, Pain) to develop and deliver a range of evidence based stepped care interventions for people living with long term physical health conditions/symptoms.

It is essential you hold an appropriate Post-Graduate Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy qualification from the IAPT specific CBT training course; or CBT Post Graduate Diploma (or equivalent) from an accredited course provider. You must also be able to be able demonstrate a high level of skill and experience (commensurate with the band) of having successfully worked with people experiencing Depression and a range of Anxiety Disorders. IAPT or Primary Care based clinical experience is a distinct advantage.
