It is an exciting time to join our Respiratory service in Harrow.

Harrow Community Respiratory service is seeking for the following:

  • Bank band 6 Respiratory Practitioner ( Nurse of Physio) 2.5 days pw (0.5wte) for 3 months ( until 31/12/20)
  • Bank band 6 Respiratory Practitioner ( Nurse or Physio) 37.5 hours pw (1.0wte) for 6 months (31/03/21)

 

As a BANK band 6 respiratory practitioner you will:

  • Have responsibility for provision of ongoing virtual pulmonary rehabilitation classes and the home exercise programme
  • Be expected to undertake ambulatory and long term oxygen therapy assessments.
  • Provide case management for patients with COPD

 

You should have current and relevant experience in managing patients with Chronic Respiratory conditions and also have experience in running rehabilitation classes. Training will be provided to assess and manage patients on Oxygen Therapy.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • The Bank band 6 respiratory practitioners will work with the Senior Respiratory Nurse/ Team Lead and other senior clinicians to plan, co-ordinate, implement and evaluate the nursing, physiotherapy and rehabilitation service provided to respiratory patients.
  • The BANK band 6 respiratory practitioners will work as integral team members undertaking assessment and treatment of respiratory patients. This will include the delivering of community based respiratory care, home oxygen service and pulmonary rehabilitation to expected contractual markers and the highest possible standard of evidence based care in line with the NICE / BTS guidance.
  • Good interpersonal and organisational skills are essential for this post .
  • A flexible approach and the ability to work under pressure, both as part of a team and independently is expected.
  • This job involves the safe moving and handling of patient equipment as well as travel to various locations which successful candidate will be expected to undertake.
