We are looking for a forward thinking practitioner, with relevant clinical experience to develop their skills and experience in an operational management position. You will be leading one of our 4 localities and working with the wider management team to ensure we have a well led 0-19 Service.

This post provides the opportunity for the post holder to be part of a team responsible for the operational management and safe delivery of integrated health visiting and school health services within Newcastle. To support and manage staff in accordance with the NMC code of conduct, implementing robust supervision, appraisal and performance processes.

A key component is working in partnership with our Primary Care, Education and Local Authority colleagues and private and statutory partners to deliver Universal Public Health services focusing on improving health outcomes for all children and young people as part of our service specification.

The successful applicant should be a proactive and motivated individual who works well in a team and has effective leadership skills to meet the competing challenges of this post. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial to this role.

You are required to hold a first level nursing qualification, specialist public health practitioner in health visiting or school nursing and current experience. The successful applicant will be supported and offered a comprehensive induction and mentorship to the post. Regular clinical and safeguarding supervision will be provided ensuring a high standard quality service. There are various training and learning opportunities available within the Trust to develop leadership skills and maintain evidence based practice.
