Housekeeper - Band 2 Glastonbury Court - 24 hours per week - permanent

King Suite is a 20 bedded, re-ablement/assessment unit situated within Glastonbury Court Nursing Home in Bury St. Edmunds. 

The unit has been commissioned by West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust and the service is managed by West Suffolk Hospital.

 

We are looking to recruit a part-time housekeeper to join our team on King Suite, the hours available will be required to be worked over 4 days.

The unit is a dynamic, nurse-led unit where you would work as part of a highly supportive multi-disciplinary team.

The role will include some domestic duties, as well as supporting nursing staff in the provision of food and beverages.

 

We pride ourselves on providing compassionate holistic care to all our patients, putting our patients needs and wishes at the heart of everything we do.

We provide in-patient facilities in a non-acute environment offering re-ablement and further assessment.  Our aim is to promote and return our patients to independence after an acute illness, to ensure successful discharge with the appropriate support for them to continue to live as independently as they are able for as long as they are able.

 

As a new member of the team you will receive a comprehensive induction supported by the Matron, Ward Sisters and West Suffolk Hospital Housekeeping Department, as well as the rest of the team.

 

Within this role there will be a requirement to work part of each weekend.

The successful candidate for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Disclosure at Enhanced level.

 

For Band 1 and Band 2 posts, the cost of the DBS Disclosure will be met by the Trust. However, any employees at Band 1 and Band 2 who leave the Trust within six months of commencing their post will have a £10 administration fee deducted from their final salary. For posts at Band 3 and above, the cost of the Disclosure will be met by the appointed employee and deducted in instalments from their salary over a period of three months. If the employee leaves the Trust within three months of commencing their post, any outstanding payments will be deducted from their final pay.
