In May 2020, King’s Mill Hospital, where 90% of our services are based, was rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and is the only Outstanding hospital in the East Midlands. Newark Hospital and Mansfield Community Hospital are both rated Good and all 15 of our services are rated Good for Safety with five Outstanding services.

Safe, patient centred care is delivered by well supported people and in 2018 and 2019 colleagues at Sherwood rated us the best Acute Trust in the Midlands. In 2019, in the Freedom to Speak Up Index, we were the top rated Acute Trust in the East Midlands.

Our established Patient Experience team require an enthusiastic Patient Experience Officer. This is a fantastic role where you will be in a position to impact on the services we deliver by supporting the wider team and divisions to understand patient feedback which drives service improvements at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Patient Experience Officer will:

  • Be a point of contact for patients, their families and carers and to work alongside colleagues to help people with any questions or concerns they have about their care
  • Listen to patient feedback, suggestions and experiences and ensure this feedback is recorded and provided to the people who design and manage services.
  • Liaise with colleagues to help find solutions to any problems raised by patients and their families.
  • Ensure patients, carers and the public have access to timely and high quality information, advice and signposting to departments and services.

Working as part of the patient experience and support team, the post will also participate in a range of patient experience activities and events.

You must have excellent written and communication skills, together with proven experience in a patient focused role. You must be organised and self-motivated and have the ability to work to tight deadlines. You will be committed to taking patient involvement forward, be innovative and have a positive “can do” attitude.
