An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Main Outpatient Department Based at Royal Victoria Infirmary/CRESTA for a Band 2 Phlebotomist required to work 18.75 hours per week and would be flexible to the needs of the Service.

The post is suitable for individuals who wish to develop clinical skills to support the speciality teams is delivering quality care by providing Phlebotomy Services. We are a large and busy unit providing services to multiple specialities and you will work closely with the Nursing and Medical Staff within Outpatients.

The successful candidate will:

  • assist in the delivery of safe and effective care
  • perform venepuncture blood collection as requested by Medical/Nursing Staff
  • ensure blood samples are labelled correctly and returned to the laboratory in a timely fashion

The post requires a substantial amount of patient movement ensuring correct positioning of the arm prior to venepuncture.
