Indigo Gender Service is currently looking to recruit 2 Salaried GPs to support the Greater Manchester Trans Gender Service - 2 year pilot.

Indigo Gender Service is a collaborative approach, setting the national standard for a pioneering, localised and person centred primary care led partnership that enables trans, non-binary and gender variant people to reach their full potential.

Your key role will be to carry out all relevant medical and associated administrative duties in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of trans, non-binary and gender variant people. You will work closely with the Clinical Director and other clinicians to deliver on the core responsibilities of the Greater Manchester trans health service specification. You will have basic knowledge of holistic care interventions in a trans health setting and clinical experience of supporting trans and gender non-conforming people as a GP. You will be motivated to undertake further self-directed learning including the RCP credential in gender identity healthcare to certificate or diploma level (NHSE funded) alongside gaining clinical experience of trans healthcare within the MDT setting of Indigo Gender Service.

Indigo Gender Service is part of the gtd healthcare family. gtd healthcare is a values driven, not-for-profit provider of primary care, urgent care and out-of-hours dental services across North West England. Led by a clinical Board, the organisation has been providing safe and high quality care to patients for more than 20 years. Importantly, we align ourselves with the NHS and we embrace the ethos of social enterprise, reinvesting surpluses generated back into our services.

The Indigo partnership involves close working with care navigators, speech and language therapists and psychologists from LGBT Foundation, and Nottingham Gender Dysphoria Clinic.

We particularly welcome applicants who identify as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), trans and/or older (50+) as colleagues from these backgrounds are currently underrepresented in our organisation.

* Trans is an umbrella and inclusive term used to describe people whose gender identity differs in some way from that which they were assigned at birth; including non-binary people, people who cross dress, and those who partially or incompletely identify with their sex assigned at birth.
