We are currently recruiting for experienced and newly qualified Theatre Practitioners within our Theatre team.

We would love to tell you about our team and our culture. Our area is committed to providing a high standard of patient care from 11 specialist theatres, 6 day unit theatres as well as initiating acute and chronic pain services.

Our surgical specialties include: Maxillofacial, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology, Vascular, Upper GI, Colorectal, Breast and plastics, Ophthalmology, Acutes including Trauma.

We also welcome applications from student nurses / newly qualified nurses with an interest in working in theatres. You do not need any additional qualifications to be eligible for this post, but hold passion, enthusiasm and commitment to provide patient centered care.

  • A positive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research evidence.
  • A willingness to supervise and teach junior staff and colleagues and share learning through clinical supervision.
  • The ability to work as an integral member of the team.

  • Nurses and ODPs who have completed their qualification and are awaiting NMC/HCPC registration will be paid at AfC Band 5 (previously Band 4)
  • A £750 relocation fee where a Nurse/ODP is moving 20 miles from an address that was 50 miles from your new work base;
  • £250 payment* to any staff member for referrals which lead to the appointment of a Band 5 nurse or ODP (paid after the new starter completes 3-months in post)

Our Departments Are Changing - We have a new interactive simulation room for Anaesthetics and surgical scenario training. We have planned in house simulation training every month which includes anaphylaxis, paediatric emergencies and major haemorrhage and includes all members of the MDT.

DBS Checks

All new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. The charges are currently £27.20 for a standard check and £44.20 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.

Please note that Volunteers, Bank only staff and Apprentices on the National Apprenticeship Minimum Wage will not be charged.
