1 REPLACEMENT with 1 in 12 General Medicine Commitment

1 NEW POST with no General Medicine Commitment

Applications are invited for these posts based at the Wrexham Maelor District General Hospital. The appointees will make up a team of 5 Consultant Cardiologists. The new post has arisen from plans to reconfigure and strengthen our existing services. We are particularly seeking to strengthen our already well-developed services in cardiovascular imaging and heart failure services. Expertise in either of these areas would be particularly welcome. However, other subspecialty interests would also be considered and we would like to emphasise the indicative Job Plan can be modified to suit the successful applicant. The GIM component of the post will involve unselected take and inpatient care based on the cardiology ward. The on-call commitment will likely be either 1-in-12 or 1-in-16 weekday evenings and weekend evenings, with the acute physician team covering 9am to 6pm each day.

The Hospital is superbly located in North Wales, with easy access to the North Wales coastline, Snowdonia National Park, Liverpool and Manchester.

You are required to be on the Specialist Register, have CCT with dual accreditation in Cardiovascular Medicine and G(I)M (post 1 only) , or recognised equivalent, or be within 6 months of obtaining it at the time of interview.

The successful candidate will be appointed in accordance with the national Consultant Contract in Wales (amended 2003) with a current salary range for 10 sessions of £77,779 to £100,978 per annum. In addition, consultants are eligible for commitment awards up to a maximum of £26,671 per annum.
