Solent NHS Trust would like to invite enthusiastic and motivated Health Visitors, to become part of the Public Health Nursing workforce to deliver the 0 – 19 Healthy Child Programme to children and families across Southampton City.

The Health visitors in Southampton support our most vulnerable families with the well embedded Enhanced Child Health Visiting Offer (ECHO) which is part of a new and innovative approach to early help and prevention.

This post offers an excellent opportunity to further develop skills within Public Health Nursing and our work to maximize the contribution of the six High Impact Areas. Solent NHS is committed to finding creative ways of providing timely and effective interventions to make a positive difference to the lives of children and their families.

We have embraced the up skilling of staff by offering training such as Solihull, Parent and Child Game and have the benefits of regular supervision from the Specialist Health Visitor for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health and CAMHS psychotherapist. Further development and use of the Australian Attachment Questionnaire and other low-level interventions for anxiety are also planned work Programmes. We work with our Partner agency NSPCC to deliver the Building Blocks Programme. Our Health Visitors are well supported through a positive culture of regular clinical and safeguarding supervision and one to one-line management.

We need creative and motivated health visitors who are keen to work with us to embed our new service model in the delivery of the Health Child Programme (HCP). The successful candidates will have excellent communication skills, be flexible and have the ability to implement new and exciting ways of working differently to improve positive outcomes for our children and families. You will need to have good organizational skills, problem solving skills and to quickly be able to gain a good rapport with people from a range of backgrounds. It is essential you can work as part of a team working in a collaborative way with a range of professionals.
