Community Nurse

Job Reference: 824-HERTS-4162

Employer:
Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust
Department:
Community Nursing
Location:
Herts Planned Care Nursing - St Albans & Harpenden, Hertfordshire
Salary:
£26,152 to £32,146 PA inc HCAS

Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) is one of the largest community healthcare organisations in London and Hertfordshire, providing our services to diverse communities/boroughs in 11 London Boroughs - Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hounslow, Kensington and Chelsea, Merton, Richmond, Wandsworth, Westminster - and Hertfordshire.

We are rated Good by the Care Quality Commission and are ranked among top NHS employers. Community healthcare is our focus and our passion. We champion the role of community health professionals to make sure our patients get great care closer to home.

This is an exciting time to join the community nursing service in West Herts. We are developing new community pathways which will support the delivery of more care in people’s homes, and to enable us to do this we have a range of new learning and development opportunities available through the CLCH Academy.

But don’t just take our word for it, listen to what our staff have to say about their jobs.

Nicola has worked in community nursing since 2008, having started her career in an Acute Trust, specifically in A&E. She says

“The skills I had gained since qualifying were easily transferrable to the community and I have found my dream job. Since joining the community team, I have been able to progress from a junior band 5, through to a band 6 caseload holder and now a band 7 lead within the St Albans and Harpenden area. I had a small break from the community when I had my second child and thought I wanted to try something different but have since returned to the community in the same area because I missed it so much. No matter what happens, I am so happy to be back and appreciate even more what a fantastic job I have and how privileged I am to work with patients in their own homes. I can’t imagine ever doing anything else, it is so rewarding. I never dread going to work.

I enjoy the autonomy and the freedom my job gives me and love to be out in the community seeing patients that may not see anyone else all day. The team I work with are fantastic, they all work hard with one aim, to give the patients the best care possible in their homes.”

We are looking for a nurse with a genuine interest in continuing to develop skills in this field. We have a good track record of supporting newly qualified nurses, return to practice nurses, and nurses transitioning into the community from other settings including acute care. You must be able to work flexibly according to service needs and have excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.

We are based at Hemel One, just off the M1 at Junction 7. Do get in touch if you would like to arrange an informal visit and meet the team.
