The role

Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Eastern Devon CAMHS Team 10PAs – Exeter

This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant multidisciplinary team, develop your special interest and contribute to the transformation of the service, while having the best of what Devon offers. This is a replacement post following the previous consultant moving to another team within the service.

Relocation package are negotiable up to £8000.00

We are looking for highly motivated, innovative and committed individuals, who can help us make a real difference in the lives of young people and their families, who can be part of a team and who can bring enthusiasm and developments into clinical practice.

Based at Exeter CAMHS, Evergreen House, Victoria Park Road, Exeter

About us

Applications are invited for the above post, created to increase our Consultant workforce and to meet the growing population demands and increasing growth in the multidisciplinary teams. Candidates will be joining a strong and established workforce of 15 Child Psychiatrists in Devon and Torbay, in providing medical leadership across intervention pathways. The service is particularly interested in modelling the job in line with the successful candidate’s special interest and working preference.

The Eastern CAMHS post will be based in Exeter, working with 4 other consultants and a highly specialist multi-disciplinary team to provide care in the community for children and young people with moderate to severe mental health problem, across a number of pathways, There’ll be opportunities for the candidate to develop / pursue their special interest, and provide medical leadership in an area of expertise, e.g. Eating Disorders, Neurodevelopmental disorder, Developmental Trauma, Children in Care. Applicants with special interest or experience in neurodevelopmental disorders would be highly welcome to help restructure and develop the neurodevelopmental pathway.

We are willing to consider job share and part time opportunities for doctors looking to work part time.

The hours

10 PAs per week. Normal working hours of 9am – 5pm but flexibility allowed in job plan. There is a 1 in 8 on-call rota.

As a new member of staff to Devon Partnership NHS Trust you will be required to attend a full induction programme at the beginning of your employment. The content and length of this programme will depend on your new job role and where you will be working. This can be between one day for non-clinical staff and up to 10 days for inpatient clinical staff.
